The best plans for Christmas in 5 ‘Gestilar Cities’

We tell you about the best plans for this Christmas at those destinations, so why not discover them! We invite you to travel with us to 5 ‘Gestilar Cities’

27/12/2018.

We invite you to travel with us to 5 ‘Gestilar Cities’, the places where some of our most notable developments are located, and which at this time of year offer a range of attractions that make them worth visiting: we tell you about the best plans for this Christmas at those destinations, so why not discover them!

Majorca at Christmas: discover its ‘other side’

The old quarter of the Island is transformed during the holiday season, where as well as enjoying your typical Christmas shopping, it is also a pleasure for your senses to walk alongside the Mediterranean Sea through its decorated streets, in a welcoming and picturesque atmosphere.

What plans for Christmas do we recommend?

Visit the Fira de Nadal i dels Reis in Palma, one of the most traditional in the city where you will find the typical sellers of Christmas figurines, handicrafts, and pastry-chefs. Enjoy your Christmas shopping and the local gastronomy in the Main Square of the city!

Take the opportunity to discover the magical surroundings of Gestilar Mediterrània, Gestilar’s first development of new-build homes on the Island, which is being constructed in the well-known area of Nou Llevant, a district that is seeing rapid development to the south-east of the city, near the port of Portitxol.

Christmas in Madrid: fun for everyone

The capital city offers a great variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy at this festive time, and not just in the centre: who fancies an escape to the country? You mustn’t miss the fantastic landscapes of the Sierra de Madrid at Christmas: idyllic!

Another star plan for Christmas is to go ice-skating: who’s coming? We recommend the rink installed at the Crystal Gallery in the Cibeles Palace, open until January 5th.

Lastly, we propose a truly original experience: the ‘pre-grapes’ New Year’s Eve rehearsal at the Puerta del Sol, a sort of mass rehearsal for the grape-eating festivities held on the 31st where thousands of Madrid residents and tourists get together to celebrate the New Year one day early. Curious, isn’t it?

Did you know that we currently have 8 developments underway in Madrid? Discover them and come and visit them.

Oleiros, the magic of the north

As we have already said in our post on Living in Oleiros, this residential town where we are constructing our Isla de Santa Cruz development is located 20 minutes away from Corunna, and is surrounded by a never-ending coastline, set in natural surroundings which were runner-up in a UNESCO-backed award as one of the most sustainable places in the world offering the best quality of life. At this time of year its fairytale landscapes amplify its charm, with the lights, Christmas markets, and the undisputed essence of the north.

Barcelona: a walk around the city

We propose 3 essential plans for Christmas in Barcelona:

A visit to the emblematic Tibidabo, which also ‘dresses up’ for Christmas, and which offers new shows and activities for the whole family through to January 5th.

Meanwhile, through to December 29th the Poble Espanyol becomes a truly Christmas-themed attraction with a large Christmas market selling decorations, traditional produce in both gastronomy and handicrafts, workshops, theatre, performances, film screenings, and much more.

Lastly, if you want a different New Year’s Eve, go to the Avenida de la Reina Maria Cristina, with the Palau Nacional as a backdrop: you will enjoy an amazing spectacle of lights, water, fireworks, and music.
